Anlässlich der UN Klimakonferenz in Bonn (3.-13. Juni) und des 2024 Weltumwelttags am 5. Juni laden wir nächsten Sonntag herzlich zu einem geselligen Austausch und einer Special Sunday Story (Erzählcafé) mit Frederick Ongili ins Tannenbusch Haus ein, um zu beleuchten, wie wir gemeinsam das Blatt für unseren Planeten und unsere geteilte Menschheit noch wenden können.

Wir freuen uns, Fredrick Ongili begrüßen zu können, der als kenianischer Delegierter und Vertreter der African Youth Initiative on Climate Change an den UN (pre-COP29) Klimaverhandungen (3.-13.06.) in Bonn teilnimmt. Frederick wird uns über sein Leben, seine Arbeit und den vielen Herausforderungen berichten, denen sich Länder und Gemeinschaften in Afrika auf dem Weg zur Klimagerechtigkeit gegenüberstehen.

Join us for a special Sunday Storytelling event at the Tannenbusch House, co-hosted by GreenDrinks Bonn. We are delighted to welcome Fredrick Ongili, who is attending the annual UN climate negociations (SB Meetings) in Bonn (June 3-13) ahead of the COP29 in Azerbaijan as an envoy of the Kenyan government.
Frederick will tell us about his life and work for the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change and the many challenges that countries and communities in Africa face on the road to achieving climate justice.
World Environment Day on June 5 is a reminder that we must step up to spark global action to fight climate change and environmental degradation. The theme of this year's UN World Environment Day, hosted by Saudi Arabia, is #GenerationRestoration with a focus on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.
"Humanity depends on land. Yet, all over the world, a toxic cocktail of pollution, climate chaos, and bioiversity decimation are turning healthy lands into deserts, and thriving ecosystems into dead zones," said UN General Secretary António Gueterres ahead of the 2024 World Environment Day.
